Go maxi (with high slits) on dresses, go mini on bags!
As we curl in bed with the September issue, we spot unconventional fall/winter trends this year - dark blue hues are paired with bright colored wide-legged pants. How are you liking the new take to floral in long and covered typical winter outfits? Floral is strictly for summer - proven to be 'blah'.
We notice how polkadot is back too - giving a whimsical touch to the dark-toned outfits this season. This time around, they are bold and big as worn by Ashley Olsen. Anna Wintour is happily spotted with her artsy graphical dress too, which will undoubtedly become sudden hit.
What's more exciting to muse around, however, is the outfit companion - the one providing a perfect finishing to our adventurous fall/winter trend this year. The bag! Chloe with its Gabby bag seems to be the 'it' bag this season. And in case you have not noticed, it is small and slingy. We spot celebrities donning their autumn bag - a mini clutch or a small sling, both and off the red carpets. This bag could easily get along with most autumn's trend - mod, androgyny, or sexy hippie. Flip around the gallery while you dig inside your wardrobe to find your little treasures!
Hint: red could be the next hot color as seen on Michael Kors, Louis Vuiton, and Lanvin.
Chloe borrows the main androgyny colors of the season and make her own quirky ensemble out of it. Small black clutch is never a mistake to add on.
Florence leaves her dramatic stage outfits at home and have fun with this season's mod trend. Small black bag is just the right thing to keep the eyes on the gorgeous shirt dress.
Androgyny looks best with a classic sling bag. Look how Anja wears her leather midi pants and animal printed flats to show her femininity.
Looking stunning in this season's hottest shade of blue - Yves Klein blue, Olivia Palermo adds a twist to her jumpsuit with a salmon studded clutch. Fashion is about characteristics, and she knows it best.
Donning similar solid color sling bags, the twins show both their distinctive fashion sense and love for the twins. Awww!
Another fan of the matching look, Behati makes sure that her dress has enough detailing and gradient to avoid looking boring.
Donning a tuxedo for a red carpet could be tricky for the ladies, but Diane Kruger is smart enough to spice it up with a baby yellow clutch. See how magical this pretty little thing is?
Tips #2 to the matching look is to make sure everything you wear is of a different texture. Emma Stone chooses the satin chained clutch to avoid dullness in this red carpet ensemble.
The matchy-matchy look is quite in right now. The key to it is to wear two main similar pieces at a time, and then play around with either the bag or the shoes.
The queen of androgyny knows exactly how to add glam to the tomboy style. Chanel for classic chain sling bag, please!
